Our Winery: Bodegas Dimobe
Bodegas Dimobe, established in 1927 in Moclinejo, Málaga, is a family-owned winery renowned for its dedication to producing exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Axarquía region. The winery's vineyards are situated in the mountainous landscapes of Axarquía, characterized by steep slopes and decomposed slate soils. This challenging terrain, often referred to as "heroic viticulture," prohibits mechanization, requiring manual labor and traditional methods, including the use of mules for vineyard work.
The primary grape variety cultivated is Muscat of Alexandria, known locally as "Moscatel," which thrives in the region's climate and soils. These vineyards, some of which are nearly a century old, produce grapes that are the foundation of Bodegas Dimobe's acclaimed wines. In addition to Muscatel, the winery also grows other varieties such as Pedro Ximénez, Romé, Syrah, and Petit Verdot in different regions, including the Montes de Málaga and Ronda.
Bodegas Dimobe's commitment to quality is evident in their diverse portfolio, which includes dry whites, rosés, reds, sparkling wines, and vermouths. Notable labels include Zumbral, Piamater, and El Lagar de Cabrera, each showcasing the winery's expertise and passion for winemaking.
Beyond winemaking, Bodegas Dimobe offers immersive enotourism experiences, allowing visitors to explore the vineyards, learn about the winemaking process, and taste their exceptional wines. This dedication to sharing their heritage and craftsmanship underscores their role as stewards of Andalusia's rich viticultural traditions.
