Our Winery: Bodegas Fontedei
Bodegas Fontedei is a family-owned winery situated in Deifontes, Granada, Spain. The estate spans across three distinct vineyard zones, each contributing unique characteristics to the wines produced.
The first zone, located in Alhama de Granada at an altitude of 1,200 meters, encompasses 6 hectares planted with varieties such as Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc. The high altitude and significant temperature fluctuations between day and night during the ripening months result in slower and more complex grape maturation, enhancing the aromatic profile of the wines .
The second zone is situated in Deifontes, the same municipality as the winery. Here, a plot with over 50-year-old Garnacha vines is cultivated, serving as the foundation for the winery's high-end red wine, Garnata .
The third vineyard area is located in the Vega of Granada, known as "Payments Conchoso," at 700 meters above sea level. This zone is dedicated to white grape varieties like Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, which are used to produce dry white wines .
Bodegas Fontedei's commitment to quality is reflected in their meticulous vineyard management and winemaking practices. The wines produced are characterized by their expression of the unique terroir of Granada's Altiplano region.
